The Quantum ADIC Scalar I500 Tape Library can accommodate continual data growth, expanding to up to 643 TB of capacity. With advanced diagnostic services, library resource management, and I/O management inside the library, iLayer monitors itself to avoid failed backups or restores. The Scalar I500 tape library offers configuration protection, which stores all configuration data & event logs on flash memory. This data can be backed up outside the library, providing for the quick & automatic transfer of a library’s configuration data & diagnostic history to a replacement controller, for fast recovery & simplified management.
Full 2N power redundancy eliminates single-points-of-failure in the power system, and the FC port fail-over functionality automatically re-routes data if a library or switch port, or cabling connection fails.
