Part of the HP StorageWorks MSL6000 Tape Library family, the HP StorageWorks MSL6052 Tape Library provides a centralized, secure data backup solution for medium to large IT networks. Featuring high data capacity in a compact 10U form factor, the HP MSL6052 is able to run up to four Super Digital Linear Tape (SDLT) 600 tape drives, with a maximum data storage capacity of 31.2TB and a maximum data transfer rate of 1.04 TB/hr. With a maximum scalable height of four units stacked and linked to create one virtual library, the HP StorageWorks MSL6052 Tape Library is able to be expanded to a maximum of 16 tape drives and 240 media slots by means of an HP MSL Library Extended Kit. This particular HP tape library model also provides high scalability through its ability to scale multiple units of MSL6052 or any other model within the MSL6000 tape library series, as well as the MSL5000 tape library series by means of a Pass-Thru Mechanism (PTM). The MSL6052 tape library is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, servers, workstations and backup applications. Featuring a touch screen Graphical User Interface (GUI) control panel, the MSL6052 offers two interface options: an Ultra160 Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) LVD/SE or a 2GB fiber channel.
