The Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G series  (VSP G) is a 3D scaling platform for all types of data that is dynamic and open. The HITACHI VSP G1000 provides a storage architecture that can be scaled to improve performance capacity and virtualization. It is also open platforms and supports various operating systems, data type, storage and server environment.

The HITACHI VSP G1000 (Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform) an always on infrastructure with enterprise-wide scalability. Allows up to 1.9 more drives per chassis than previous generations at a very low power consumption. The HITACHI VSP G1000, also provides a complete management of the data virtualization, preventing server spread across virtualized storage and manage data at large distances.

Hitachi announced end of life for the VSP as of 06/30/2022. Even though it is still a few years in the future, Hitachi is winding down HITACHI VSP G1000 support.
