The HP MSL2024 Tape Library is an entry-level tape library that provides reliable unattended backup, disaster recovery, or archive capability in the compact form of a tape autoloader. With compressed capacity ranging from 9.6 to 72TB (compressed), the MSL2024 can handle backup and recovery jobs typically handled by mid-range tape libraries. Utilizing a 2U form factor, the MSL2024 provides a large amount of data storage without consuming a large amount of valuable rack space. The HP MSL2024 Tape Library offers a broad choice of storage capacity and interfaces with LTO-5, LTO-4, or LTO-3 Ultrium tape drives. Native encryption on LTO-5 and LTO-4 MSL Libraries provide high levels of security for strong backup data privacy to secure confidential information and address compliance regulations. The HP MSL2024 offers various interface options when installing the tape library into a SCSI, SAS or SAN environment.
Each HP MSL2024 Tape Library includes two removable 12-slot magazines, and one user-configurable mail slot dedicated for import/export of data cartridges. A barcode reader is part of the standard configuration for facilitating media management. The HP web-based remote management feature allows multiple sites to be supported centrally. The HP TapeAssure dashboard makes managing, optimizing, and archiving faster and easier through comprehensive summaries and detailed information about the status, performance, utilization, and health of all tape drives and tapes within the HP MSL Tape Library.
